Ever wonder what your neighbours really think about Clonskeagh? A good number of local residents turned out this weekend to find out — and to have their say. Here’s what happened.

A Great Turnout Despite the Rain

The Committee held a Meet & Greet event on the Village Green on Saturday, 29 August. Local residents came along to meet the Committee. The weather was rather wet. But many people still turned up during the two hour event to chat and enjoy some refreshments.

Meeting the New Committee

The event gave residents a chance to meet the new Committee face to face. People could:

  • Share their concerns
  • Give ideas to improve the area
  • Learn about the Committee’s work
What Residents Said

Residents raised these points:

  • The manhole covers on Bird Avenue are noisy
  • Cars drive too fast along Bird Avenue
  • Road signs near the Village Green are confusing. Drivers intending to turn right onto Bird Avenue often get caught out and drive the wrong way along some roads

Some residents also suggested topics for future evening talks.

The Committee took note of these comments and will follow through with some work.

Rain Didn’t Dampen Spirits

The rain did not stop people from coming. Many residents dropped by and chatted about local matters. The Committee felt very encouraged by their attendance and support.
