Spring Clean up at Clonskeagh Village
Spring Clean-up at Clonskeagh Village

A cleaner Clonskeagh doesn’t happen by accident—it happens when neighbours step up. Here’s the impact local volunteers made and how you can be part of what comes next.

Clonskeagh residents came together on Saturday, 23 May, for the Spring Clean-up.

The weather was exceptionally warm and sunny, probably the best day so far this year. This helped the volunteers during the morning.

The volunteers cleaned these roads:

  • Beechmount Drive
  • Clonskeagh Village Green
  • Clonskeagh Road to the Clonskeagh Collection site
  • Gledswood Avenue
  • Gledswood Park
  • Leinster Lawn
  • Nutgrove Park
  • Roebuck Lawn
  • Roebuck Road, up to the junction with Goatstown Road and
  • Rosemount Crescent

The Association would like to thank everyone who gave their time and support.

Their hard work has made parts of the area cleaner and more pleasant for everyone. So, the volunteers can feel proud of their efforts to improve the community. We hope all local residents will help to keep these areas clean in future.

The Association also thanks Higgins Off-Licence for providing refreshments for the volunteers.

The Association plans to organise another Community Clean-up soon. The next areas may include:

  • Milltown Bridge
  • Whitebeam Road
  • Whitethorn Road
  • Laburnam Road
  • Maple Road and
  • The Maples

If you would like to help for an hour or more in the next Community Clean-up, please fill in a Volunteer Form on our website.

NEW PLANTERS
The first new planter was installed today on the island outside Spar in Clonskeagh.

This planter contains a cordyline feature plant, surrounded by lamb’s ears (Stachys Byzantina) and yellow stonecrop (Sedum reflexum “Yellow Bouquet”).

The Association will install four more planters in the area soon.

Dún Laoghaire Rathdown County Council provided funding for the planters. The Association thanks the Council for its support.
