Recycling food waste just got easier—and your kitchen scraps can now help save the planet.
You can now recycle food waste at Ballyogan Recycling Park.
Homes in Dún Laoghaire‑Rathdown can now take food waste to Ballyogan Recycling Park. This makes it easier to recycle food and keep it out of landfills. It is an alternative to the brown bin service.
How it works:
- Bring food waste loose or in compostable bags only
- You can bring up to 25 litres per visit and
- The cost is €5 per visit.
There is no extra charge if you bring general waste and/or garden waste also.
Why is this being done?
Regulations say food waste must be kept separate from other waste. This helps more food waste get recycled into compost.
Other composting options
- Use the domestic brown bin collection service and
- Compost your food waste at home.
