The local playground is closed—but something better is coming. Here’s what’s changing, why it matters for local families, and what to expect when it reopens.
In mid-2025, Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council asked the public for their views on an expanded playground at Patrick Doyle Road. This is called a public consultation.
161 people replied. Many were parents from a number of areas in South Dublin.
What happened next
The Council used these replies to improve their design for a larger playground.
Construction work
Building work started on 16 March.
The work may take up to 8 weeks to finish. The playground should re-open by mid-May.
Important information
The playground is closed while the work is underway to keep everyone safe.
