More cranes coming
There are already three cranes on the Dún Brí site.
They are now a familiar addition to the local skyline.
John Paul Construction plans to install three more cranes over the next few weeks.
Weekend works
Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council has issued John Paul Construction with a works permit for next weekend, 3 and 4 October.
The permit allows work to take place during these hours:
- Saturday, 3 October: 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
- Sunday, 4 October: 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Why are these works needed?
The weekend working hours are linked to the installation of a new crane.
John Paul Construction will install the new crane at the front of the Dún Brí site, close to its main entrance on Dundrum Road.
Will Dundrum Road be closed?
The Council has advised briefly: “For safety reasons a large exclusion zone is required during the operation.”
The Council’s use of the military term “exclusion zone” hints the crane installation could mean either no or limited passage for pedestrians, cyclists and motorists on Dundrum Road during daytime the weekend.
John Paul Construction were contacted this morning (30 September) for their clarification.
Late this evening, they advised the exclusion zone will apply only to the Dún Brí site and not the Dundrum Road.
