The Land Development Agency (LDA) and Dún Laoghaire Rathdown County Council (DLRCoCo) have started enabling works at the Dún Brí site.
Dún Brí was known previously as Dundrum Central and, before that, as the Central Mental Hospital on the Dundrum Road.
Dún Brí will have 753 affordable and cost rental homes and 181 social homes. It will have additional facilities also.
Phase 1 of Dún Brí will have 547 affordable homes and facilities. Completion of Phase 1 is scheduled for end-2028.
The LDA and John Paul Construction, the main contractor, have launched their project communication to inform people about this development. Their first newsletter is available at the Resources section of the webpage https://lda.ie/projects/dún-brí-dundrum.
Key points to highlight:
- Enabling works have begun
- These works will be contained within the site’s boundaries
- Any parking by site staff on nearby roads and neighbourhoods is strictly prohibited
- Management of the Dundrum Road traffic is needed to minimise the disruption caused by increasing construction traffic into and from the site and
- Road cleaning and washing is being undertaken
